Speed Test

Use Local Servers

We recommend using the MyBroadband Speedtest. It is important to select the server closest to your location when performing a speed test (Cape Town if you are based in Cape Town and Johannesburg if you are based in Johannesburg). Selecting the correct server will ensure more accurate results because this is the closest physical locations to our core equipment.

International servers are also limited by the amount of bandwidth they are able to receive and send. It is unlikely that you would achieve the same results on an international speed test as you would from local servers. Please use the GoogleFibre Speedtest for international speed tests.

The medium over which the tests are done plays a critical role in results. For the best speed test results, use a cable connection as WiFi connections are shared between devices which will skew test results.
