Frogfoot Residential Fibre

Who is Frogfoot?
Frogfoot is a licensed open access fibre network provider. With 15 years experience in the telecoms industry and widely acknowledged for their technical excellence, Frogfoot intends to play a pivotal role in the growth of fibre to the business and home in South Africa.

Funded by Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), Investec and Metier Capital, group revenue exceeding R1 billion per annum, and one of the only true open access wholesale fibre network offerings in the market, Frogfoot is well positioned to build and maintain fibre networks that will enable service providers to acquire their own fibre backbones on a shared network.

Having operated fibre networks throughout South Africa for years, Frogfoot understands the challenges of deploying and managing large fibre networks. Currently, the company has an extensive fibre footprint, with more than 5,000 buildings already linked to its network and a coverage area spanning more than 7,000 km2 in 5 regions.

Fibre networks are at the heart of reliable, robust, high performance telecommunications services; you need a company that has a sound grasp of telecoms engineering principles and how to implement them, looking after those networks.

Frogfoot is that kind of company.
What is Frogfoot FTTH?
Fibre to the home (FTTH), replaces the tired old copper phone cable to your home with optical fibre capable of blazingly fast speeds. Your Internet connection can now experience a dramatic improvement. No more long delays while files, music or videos download. Not only that, but a whole new world of online services will become available to you.

Fibre To The Home refers to the use of optic fibre cables to provide unprecedented high-speed Internet access and other services, directly to individual residences, apartment buildings and businesses. FTTH dramatically increases the connection speeds available to computer users compared with copper based technologies like DSL, currently in common use.
What are the benefits of using Frogfoot Fibre?
Better Speed
Fibre is up to 250 times faster than today's basic DSL broadband. Upload speed is more or less the same as download speed, which is great for video conferencing via Skype and for remote working. Fibre future-proofs your home.

Improved Security
Rolling out a fibre network makes it possible for CCTV cameras to be placed throughout the community, which can play a significant role in improving the overall security in the areas they cover.

HD Entertainment Possible
Rapidly download or even live stream your favourite HD TV shows, movies, games and music via the Internet

Internet Telephony
VoIP (Voice over IP) can cut your phone costs by making calls (locally and internationally) from your home at a fraction of current costs, but with crystal clear quality.

Improved Mobile Phone Coverage
Mobile phone coverage (which can be very poor in some areas) can be improved with the installation of decentralised mini-antennas mounted on, for example, camera poles and traffic lights, they can be powered through the fibre network. This is a very viable means of addressing environmental and health concerns associated with large masts in residential areas.

Additional Services
Smart metering and home automation allows homeowners to upgrade to smart homes, with remote control of alarms, devices, lights, appliances, and remote measuring of water and electricity consumption.
How long will it take to get connected?
This will depend on the turnaround for your installation and activation. Once the line has been installed in your premises it can take up to 5 days for the provider to activate your line. As soon as your Fibre line is active, you can be connected to Interworks Fibre within 24 Hours.

Each provider has a different lead time for installation and activation. If your line is already activated, you'll be connected shortly after you sign up.
